I am a US citizen who has lived abroad for a large part of his life. On my UW Madison application, I’ve been asked to submit my TOEFL scores. I don’t want to take it because according to the website, you don’t have to take it if English was the language of instruction during high school which is the case. I also got an A in my IGCSE O Level exams. And there’s nothing in my application much to suggest that English isn’t my first language. Will I be fine? I got a 2030 in my SAT’s (710 Wr and 630 Cr)
I’ve also been asked to submit my TOEFL scores which is extremely strange because I’ve studied in USA since the second half of freshman year. Yes, I did move from abroad one semester into high school but even that semester was taught in English and I’m not quite sure why they want it. I’m not even an international applicant lol so I’m gonna be requesting a waiver.
I guess they automatically ask everyone who has studied abroad for TOEFL, without looking at the rest of the application.
