toefl

this is kinda urgent… I’ve been learning English for seven years, and my teachers said that I don’t need to take the TOEFL. However, when I checked the Penn website, it said that all students whose native language is not English are required to take the TOEFL. I didn’t know about this, and I didn’t register to take the TOEFL. I’m applying ED, and it’ll be too late if I do sign up and take it. I just want to know if I need TOEFL and if there’s any special policy regarding it. Will it hurt my chances if I don’t take it?
I took it once like two years ago, but I think that score is too old now. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you are an international whose native language is not English you need to provide the score. The admissions website does not say anything about the age of the test:

<a href="http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/applying/entrance.php%5B/url%5D">http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/applying/entrance.php</a></p>

However -
ETS deletes your scores after 2 years so if its been less than 2 years I'd say go ahead and send that since you don't really have any choice at this point.

Take the TOEFL now it takes 15 days to arrive so hopely they will receive in time..

write a fax to the adcoms saying you are taking the toefl and sending them

im not sure if this will help...but if you are in a school that is taught in English for more than 4 years, you dont need TOEFL. However, I will recommend you to call the admission office and confirm with them. It shouldnt be a problem...dont worry! Good luck!
