<p>You need to take the TOEFL when you are applying to a school.</p>

<p>You need to check with the school, every school has different policy on that. Some college would not ask for toefl if you have been in an “english” school for three years.</p>

<p>how does university count how many years i’ve been in Canada?
i came in grade 9 and by the END of grade 12 it would be 4 years but at the time i apply (which is the begining of grade 12) it would only be 3 years.</p>
