Tokyo Olympics

And the other guy I know, did what everyone expected, and hit it.

Hope so! A woman’s body curves do not mesh well with splashless water entry
(per commentators, a splashless entry automatically deserves a big score bump). Fingers crossed we will see more of this amazing diver. Hope she stays healthy, both physically and mentally. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

So unnecessary. Poor judgement that they scheduled the gold medal match in the middle of the afternoon.

Beach volleyball players are used to heat and know how to stay hydrated. It’s not ideal but the women seem fine and the USA seems on the way to a Gold medal!

They are playing great! One of the commentators mentioned the timing of the match as far as temp and I agree with him.

Absolutely thrilled! Take that, Nike. Moms can win medals, even after emergency C sections. 4x400 relay is tomorrow. Run, US, run!

How did I forget?! Both US women running in the 400 are moms. Here is Quanera Hayes’ pre-Olympics story:

Fingers crossed for the relay! :medal_sports:

Looking forward to basketball tonight! Hopefully, France can keep it close so it is interesting. But Durant is so dominant, it will be tough for France.

Amazing! The conditions were brutal. Yay Molly!

Great bronze in the marathon for Molly! They moved both marathons north of Tokyo because of concerns about heat (still hot anyway!) but I miss seeing the athletes come into the stadium at the end. Always emotional and a highlight of the summer games for me.

I’m glad it was moved, or we would have seen many more DNF.

I agree and safety comes first but it is definitely more dramatic to see them come into the stadium. Very exciting to have a USA woman win a medal, something she had dreamed about since she was a child. And congratulations to the Kenyan women!

It was only her 3rd marathon, with one being her qualifier.

Just watched the men’s 5,000 m! I knew the results, but had no idea about what sorts of finish drama unfolded! What a gutsy finish by Paul Chelimo! :+1:
