Tom Hanks' Best Character in a Movie

Alexandre: half these people arent technically old enough to see bachelor party! Great movie though, especially where the chick was dancing with everyone topless and noone seemed to care.

The best scene in that movie was with the donkey snorting all the drugs! LOL

Another great Tom Hanks movie is Apollo 13. Somehow, we all forgot about that one. Great movie, great performances all around. Gary Sinise, Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Kathleen Quinlan and best of all, Ed Harris. Ed really stole the show, but the entire cast did great.

I'm not a big fan and haven't seen all his movies, but of the ones I have, "Cast Away" seemed to be the most challenging. Gotta give him props for his work in "Philadelphia" and "Saving Private Ryan," too. It's hard to argue with "Forrest Gump" perhaps being the most unforgettable. After all, it became a cultural icon. It didn't seem to be particularly difficult from what I remember, though.

I thought his Michael Sullivan character in "Road to Perdition" was good. I like it when good-guy actors play bad guys, such as Tom Cruise in "Collateral."

"The Green Mile" was also a very good movie, but it really took all of the characters to make it work.

You can't forget about "Radio Flyer," although that doesn't really count since he played Mike as an adult (Elijiah Wood played the younger Mike).

I haven't seen all of his movies but "The Terminal" was a waste of time. I guess he needed a paycheck.

I thought it was a really charming, underrated film, like an extended version of a clever sitcom episode. The first half was excellent, while it sort of drifted into extreme "suspension of disbelief zone" in the second half.

I loved Philadelphia, but I thought Denzel Washington's character was better, and his role was more demanding. By defending Andrew Beckett, he had to confront his own homophobia, and see his former attitudes reflected in the general public mind.

Jee golly, no one else seems to think Tom was hilarious as Jimmy Dugan in A League of Their Own?

"Next time, use your head! That's that lump, that's 3 feet above your ASS!" (evelyn now begins to cry...)

"WHY AM I THE ONLY PERSON ON THIS BUS!!!!" (intense screaming)

""Ballplayers!? I haven't got ballplayers, I've got GIRLS! Girls who wanna sleep adiyayadyadaydawareaRAAAAA wit' your coach during the game! (BIG spit of tobacco on Lowenstein's shoe). "You know Jimmy if we payed you any more could you be more disgusting?" Jimmy: "Well I can certainly use the money...."

"Oh no let's not go to the World Series without Stewell's TOYS!!" (haha classic)

and the BEST one:

"Are you crying?! Are you CRYING.........! ARE YOU CRYING!!!!... ............ "there's no crying in baseball...??"

Can't you tell how FIERCE he was in this movie! I loved it baby! Hahaha!

BTW Forrest Gump is the 100% OPPOSITE of Jimmy Dugan. I just got so hooked on Jimmy that after I watched Forrest Gump, I thought "I miss the powerful Tom Hanks..."

I've got to say John Miller. I love that movie.

I thought Forest Gump was his best role... However in most of the movies he has been in he has done a great job.

I've never seen A League of Their Own, but I want to now. Hanks was always good at screaming, especially in Turner and Hooch. I think he's probably the most loved actor of all time. I haven't met a single person that doesn't like him, and usually people our age hate everybody after a while. Hanks has never gotten old.

I can think of a few other actors who have survived the test of time pretty well.

I loved his role in Terminal

What about BOB?

Green Mile...makes me cry...
Tom Hanks is great.

I haven't seen a movie he's not great in yet.
My favorite: Apollo 13
Craziest: Joe vs the Volcano, that was one odd movie

The Burbs was also pretty crazy.

this dude was nice, but his performance in philadelphia and ROad to Perdition were phenomenal

i cant beleive no one has said, You've got Mail. Joe F.. O.. X ^_^

i was watching it on tv last night...haha

forrest gump
