Tomorrow...

I am not sure. You are in the group where it could go either way, from stats, alone, and I don’t remember your ECs. I did post the link showing how many were accepted last year with that gpa and those SAT scores, that is the best I can do. the problem about chances are that if you have a 90% chance or a 10% chance, it isn’t a guaranty, and after the fact it will feel like a certain yes or no, depending on which you get. I honestly believe the UCs only cap the UC gpa for determining UC eligibility then uncap it for determining admissions, but I can’t prove it except at UCLA (where they post that they look at completely unweighted and fully weighted) and at Cal where the admissions people told us they add one point for EVERY AP. So I think you have a good chance, but that not all those with a good chance will ultimately get in, unfortunately.

But it is TOMORROW and you will find out.

Best of luck!

@collegevetting I really appreciate your time, you have provided me with a completely new perspective, and now I can have a modicum of hope for Cal and UCLA, which I had previously written off. Thanks again!

Come on guys let’s get this thread going. UCSD thread was awesome and close to 150 pages.

I know it says 3 pm, but is anyone else gonna be checking all morning long…lol

Not cool to crash the server while people are waiting for results! I strongly suspect that was a big part of UCSD’s problem.

I won’t check until 2 or so…unless others find results there first…

What housing are you guys thinking of if you go there?

^ I didn’t mean it as literally lol. More like once every 2 hours.

@Lilliana330 LOL! Yeah, I know YOU meant it like that, but some of those on the UCSD thread yesterday seemed to be frantically checking over and over, and not just the admissions portal, looking for hidden ‘clues’. That couldn’t have helped their roll out of the decisions.

@collegevetting Lol true, I felt almost guilty for having been able to see my decision right away…

Awww, guys…

<a href=“UC Santa Barbara Admissions Portal - UC Santa Barbara Applicant Portal Login”>https://admissions.sa.ucsb.edu/applicant/

“This site will be unavailable between Monday, March 17, 2014 12:01:00 AM and Monday, March 17, 2014 3:00:00 PM (Pacific Time) due to system maintenance.”

Guess nobody’s crashing the site. :P

I’m in the same boat as everyone here too… 3.95 uc gpa and a 1980 sat. I applied to college of Letters and Science undeclared. This and uci are my last hopes of a top college and I’m really nervous. I got rejected from cal poly, UCD, and UCSD, but in to riverside and Santa Cruz. Last week was tough but hopefully this one is better. I also heard that UCSB takes your essays into consideration more than other schools

@sustenance i really hope you get in dude. i wish i could give you my spot at Davis…

@akpl4485 haha thanks man appreciate the consideration. 3 hours :-&

aye I was right. fatty rejection received.

Accepted!!! Thanks G-d!!! Dreams come true!
