Oh wow. Allena? He? :o

Yep. AllenA.

Hahah we really need a UCLA forum FAQ or something.

ah, the bums of LA. They are so comical.

see ya tm namaste :]

allie, did you select your apartment roommate(s)?

If you didn't like her habits, why didn't you send an "anonymous" tenant complaint to the University Apartments Office about the "weird smell" from your apartment, and deal with the problem instead of being passive about it?

I'm moving in today! I'm leaving in like half an hour... yay for move-in-assistants!

I don't go till next tuesday...yay

Because I didn't have a University Apartment. On my own yo.

And yeah, I found my roommates independently. The one I found on the MyUcla forums is amazing and wonderful and is staying again this year. The other one I found on Craigslist (she's also a student) and yeah. I interviewed/met with both of them a couple times each and everything seemed like it would work out well. But it didn't. So yknow. Live and learn. Last year I had no idea what to look for and what kind of people I couldn't live with and now I do. So eh. Oh well.

I didn't have a lot of time to find roommates and get everything settled, so I think I definitely jumped the gun on not considering anyone else for her spot initially. I also didn't keep good enough financial records and won't be able to get back some of the money. Again, lessons and stuff. I now invoice and keep careful track of the money that's coming in so I won't have the same issues.

I wanted to kick her out but A- I'm too nice (really, I am) and felt bad, and B- I didn't think I'd have a terribly easy time replacing her on short notice and figured I'd probably get another crazy person and between school and job searching and life I just didn't have the energy to deal with it. I was definitely way too passive and ended up practically hiding from her when we were both home because I just couldn't stand her and I wasn't standing up for myself.

I'm sure I could've reported her or something, but I had no actual proof that she was doing that in the house (other roommate only told me she did, and I assumed, but I never caught her or anything). Also I really was trying to not make waves, which obviously in retrospect was stupid. The pacifist in me is slowly dying, largely due to this incident.

Have fun kids.

THanks allie - only 5 more hours till im walking up hedrick getting my key sdkljfsdlkjfkjdfsf.

i have a off topic question but i dont want to start another thread. so im bringing an incredible load of stuff today. and its taking me days to pack/organize. a nd it would not be fun to do this all over again during winter break. so for winter, can we leave most of our stuff there or do we have to repeat this process

u hv to repeat it..lolz

uh huh anybody else lol

No. The bulk of your stuff stays over winter break unless you're switching rooms. The only time you fully move is in fall and summer.

okay good thx, yo.

moving in a couple of hours....i should be packing last minute stuff but here i am on cc wasting time.

^same here . Where r u coming in from?

im like 10 min from glendale and like 45 min from ucla

You guys will have to give us a play by play of all the swelling new freshman emotions once you get your stuff set up and yourselves settled.

Anyone living on Kelton Ave.?
