What's wrong with Dunster, exactly? lol

which is the bestest house? the worstest?

on a more seriouster note, is picking your blocking group awkward at all?

What's wrong with Dunster? Nothing. It is just a bit further from the Yard (and the Science Center) than some other houses.

Judging from my S's experience, picking up the blocking group was not awkward. The freshman dean did a great job of matching freshmen suitemates, so most of them are now part of the new suite; they picked up a few other friends to form the blocking group.

Yes, D stayed with her Frosh roomie as well, but the rest of the suite went their seperate ways.

DS also stayed with most of his suitemates and three women joined them to complete the block.

this is just cruel. let me in.

Is anyone in Winthrop house? I grew up there.<<

Daughter is a sophomore in Winthrop -- JFK's old house.

ahhh, winthrop's awesome.

i think i'm only 1 of 3 people in my entryway to be quadded --

but it's okay because cabot is AWESOME

why don't people like dunster? i think it's nice (i know someone who lives there and have visited them)

Ahem, if I get into Harvard I won't give a darn where they put me. PLEASE, GOD, BE MERCIFUL.

Dunster is cool. It's Al Franken's old house.

btw everyone, in case you didn't know, ADAMS IS AMAZING!

justforgetme agrees.

Dunster is fun. You'll have lots of friends. Too bad they'll all be cockroaches.

But seriously, it's cool. You'll get to know your roommates well. Really well. And you'll get to know their significant others really well too, as you walk through your roommate's bedroom every night to get to yours (or share a bedroom with them).

And, by living in Duster, you'll also learn about what goes on in Cambridge. Like, for example, construction. That goes on outside your window. Starting at 7:30 AM in the morning.

Yes, I agree, Adam is quite spectacular.

Oh...oh, Adam*s*...oh...

I concur. ;)

3 years of singles in Pfoho is pretty nice too.

Adams is good . . . but kinda overrated, IMO. It's too "Harvard" -- plus the thought of having big singles for the next three years in Cabot just has me waaaaaaaaaay too excited.

oh, saxfreq--you've met me. you know I"m all about pretentions. so adams works out well. cabot's singles are enviable though...I'll just tell myself it's better this way because I won't get lonely.

Ll

this is true. adams is very central. very close to the Kong. and pinoch's.

it's weird, though -- almost all of the blocking groups that i would've blocked with had i not started my own ended up being quaded. so there will be almost none of that separation anxiety that would have been caused by being quaded when my friends were on the river. that's one major reason for people being afraid of the quad, isn't it? i think I just lucked out.

this gives me an excuse to stalk Rivers Cuomo this year. bwah ha haaaaaaaaaaa.

ah, rivers. my roommate walked up to him a month or so ago and asked if he would have dinner with her and a friend. and he agreed.

they had a dinner in your lovely cabot.

being close to friends is SO NICE though, you're right.
