I'm Sorry, Tonight UCLA with 90,000 applicants served up decisions just fine. NU sends emails asking people to check and it can't serve up decisions?

Ugh wait till you see what we have to deal with for class registration and alumni directory search.

UCLA also is an extremely popular public school that has had years of experiences with 3-4 times more applicants than NU or any other private school really. NU prob just underestimate the server they should have rented for decisions day. Chill out, we’re all anxious but hey! It still isn’t Apr. 1st yet, which is the day they promised.

Guess we were lucky. My daughter didn’t have any issues with the emails or websites and was accepted to both Northwestern and UCLA tonight. She is ecstatic!

@Momalisa Congrats to your D. My D got accepted at UCLA but still waiting for NU to get their act together.

Get their act together?

I’m sorry, but has your ‘D’ never made a mistake?

Faulting a prestigious university for an unintentional mistake is beyond irrational. With that being said, I’m surprised one of the top universities has “gotten their act together” enough to be considered among the best in the country and the world.

^ I agree. After all, they’re dealing with new technology. Servers, software and that whole Internet thing will have bugs that need some time and experience to work out. Oh wait - it’s 2012, not 1992! Never mind …

Again, it’s a bit difficult to predict how servers would respond to 30 plus thousand applicants streaming in at once.

I realize you currently fail to understand this simple concept, but hopefully you can see the logical and understanding side with time.

CAHS parent, after the trevails NU put you through, we simply must know: Did your DD get in?

@CentralFC We all make plenty of mistakes. Schools do this every year and FYI, one can simulate what will happen if 30+ thousand pound on your server. It is not rocket science.

@arbiter213 After all the long wait we did see the disappointing news, but then a competitive school like NU is just that isn’t it?

@cahs sorry to hear that- I’m sure she’ll be happy whereever she ends up. For instance, I visited UCLA when I was looking at law schools and as I’m sure you know Westwood is absolutely magnificent.
