I am currently taking Pre-calc Honors, and was wondering if it's too early for me to take AP stat. I would self study for it, and I just want to know if the math is too advanced for a Pre-calc student. Our class hasn't discussed trig yet, will that be a problem? The college board web site says that its best to take Stat concurrently with Pre-Calc, but I trust a CC'er over the college board any day, so all advice would be helpful.

I took Stat in pre calc and got a 5...stat is reeeaaallllyyyy easy.

which book did you use?

actually, the ONLY requirement for Stat is Algebra 1, and not even an indepth knowledge of Alg II. If you read thru to the fine print, the only reason CB recommends completion of AlgII is that the student is stronger in math and math concepts. Many kids at our HS take Stat concurrently with precalc bcos our HS REQUIRES completion of Alg II prior to enrolling in Stat so they can't take it earlier; we had a lot of fives last year bcos the teacher was excellent.

our HS requires precalc enriched before AP stat.

I actually lost my book like a month in to school...stat is so logical, just know how to use your calc.

thanks a lot :)

Stats is easy for us... :-)
