My school year starts September 8th and I'm planning to apply to multiple schools Regular Decision. I asked two teachers if they'd be willing to write me recommendations back in June. Now I want to beat the rush of students and give them the information they need to start writing before school starts.

Do you think I'll look obsessive compulsive if i'm asking my teachers sometime next week? (By the way I am obsessive compulsive about applying to colleges). Or should I wait until September?

I’m asking my teachers about it this week, my first week of school. I think most teachers will be grateful, since they get really bogged down with recs. You might look a bit obsessive, but at least you know you won’t look overly lax.

I think they’ll understand why you want to have the recs so early. It may be better for them too lol.

If you wait until September, they might have the Early Decision people rushing in for recommendations, so it actually may be best if you ask for them next week.

Its definitely not too early. Like you said yourself, you get in the request before everyone else and I’m sure the teachers (and you) would prefer to have some time to think out good letters rather than having to resort to stock accolades due to a time constraint.
