too extreme for a potentially conservative adcom? PLEASE HELP

<p>about 7 entries up, the OP writes:</p>

<p>

ok. thanks kids. out it goes.

</p>

<p>so, advice asked for, advice given, advice followed. No need to continue piling on. My problem was that it got me thinking about how could lesbians actually perform anal sex and I didn't like where that took me AT ALL!!!! ackkkkk!!! :D</p>

<p>Ordinarily, you'd be right NJres. But this is so extraordinarily bad, it deserves additional comment...there are other audiences besides the OP.</p>

<p>sorry, i don't mean to be offensive. it's blatant and extreme, sure, but i don't think it sticks out so much in context.
the rest of the essay details a pretty intense emotional experience i had with my friend, and how that affected me, and how my mom didn't appreciate it which i used as a bigger symbol for how sometimes things can be so important but be edged out by really petty things in life. this sentence is hyperbole, quite obviously; it was intended to be an ironic overreaction and overstatement of my frustration with my mom's own overreaction.... please, if anyone is interested in reading the whole thing leave an email address.
so yeah. sorry that it's "extraordinarily bad." i don't want to excuse impropriety by saying it's out of context, but it is out of context. which is my fault.
thanks for imput!</p>

<p>I wrote my $10 essay about my work with the ACLU - that's as super liberal as you can get.</p>

<p>civil liberties shouldn't necc. be super liberal, but it's all the ACLU's fault that it is...</p>

<p>but that's a different story :)</p>

<p>courtette -
you just used that essay on one app, right???</p>

<p>I liked the part about the motorcycle and no helmet.</p>

<p>yeah one app... because its really long and the hopkins prompt says "using whatever space you like." maybe i shouldn't have taken advatange of that... but meh.
thanks, russdelabuss. i liked that too - in the essay that part is italicized so it's like all this admittedly bad, offensive stuff and then the REAL bad part: not wearing a helmet. gasp.
but how about this for a revision:
"Since it won’t worsen her opinion, maybe next time I’m with Alexis I’ll tell Mom, when she calls for the eighth time, that we are hanging off the back of a motorcycle, talking loudly to strangers, drunk and high and not wearing helmets. She’ll at least have something on which to blame my red eyes."<br>
is leaving in just the passing reference "drunk and high" ok? the rest is mild but hopefully still conveys some irony etc.</p>

<p>I think it actually comes off better if you leave out drunk and high altogether and substitute smoking. Then you have the absurd picture of talking loudly to strangers with a marlboro hanging out of your mouth as being every mother's nightmare. It would explain the red eyes, too.</p>

<p>unprotected lesbian anal sex? how could protection matter? I'm conservative. who says that we conservatives don't like the idea of lesbian anal sex?</p>
