too focused?

hi- i'm a high school junior trying to figure out my senior schedule, and i'm trying to figure out how certain decisions will look to colleges. my school offers 3 social studies classes next year (euro, psych, and international relations) and i'm trying to figure out which ones to take.

i'm definitely going to drop science in order to take two, but i realized that if i decide not to take poly sci as an elective (i've heard it's just the basics so i think it might be a waste of time), i can add a 6th class (in an 8 period day- i'd be doing chorus for the last period so i would be getting a break) and do all 3 history/social studies classes next year. i'm really excited about the idea of taking all three classes, and i've talked to people who've done all three and they say it's not overkill if you love the subject.

so here's what my schedule would look like (most of them are APs but i'm not posting levels b/c i haven't completely decided which levels of which classes to take yet):

English
Calculus
French
Chorus
European History
Psychology
International Relations

i was wondering, does this kind of concentration look good to colleges, like i know what i want to be doing, or does it seem too focused, too concentrated too soon?
thanks for your feedback!! :)

I don’t see an issue here. If this is what you are interested in, then it’s good to explore these subjects now. What would the alternatives be?

I’m inclined to agree with sylvan. My daughter’s thing is languages, so she’s taking 3 foreign languages in her senior year.

thanks guys! i’m going to talk to my GC when school’s back in session just to make sure she agrees it’s a good idea, but this is what i really want to do, so i’m glad to know that it likely won’t be viewed negatively.

Yes, definitely talk to your gc. You’d hate to have her “fix” your schedule over the summer, saying, “Well, there’s no way smw could be taking 3 social studies on purpose. Let me just help out!”
