So I saw this website, slader.com, which seems too good to be true. For a math and science person like me, it seems like an effortless way to earn some extra cash (to pay for all those college apps lol). But is it legit? Has anyone here actually contributed to the site and received pay?

according to their website, you can make 50 cents per solution. say you can do a solution in 5 minutes. that’s 12 per hour. that yields about $6 an hour, below minimum wage. your time and energy would be of better use doing private tutoring for kids at your high school. depending on your credentials, you could make $15-$25 an hour for math or science help. heck, this kid in my ap chem class got $40 to tutor chem for an hour.

“The first user to add a solution via Slader’s web-based LaTeX solution editor to any exercise in a Geometry, Algebra 2 & Trigonometry, PreCalculus, Calculus or Statistics textbook that is reviewed and accepted by Slader will be eligible for a one-time $0.50 payment. The first user to add a solution via Slader’s web-based LaTeX solution editor to any exercise in a Pre-Algebra or Algebra textbook that is reviewed and accepted by Slader will be eligible for a one-time $0.25 payment. Any solution added that is a scan or photograph of a hand written solution that is reviewed and accepted by Slader will be eligible for a one-time $0.10 payment. Users will be eligible to claim payment once $10 worth of solutions have been reviewed and accepted by Slader. This offer is valid through 8/31/2011. Terms subject to change.”

Yes, but to earn a day’s pay you’d have to answer quite a lot of questions…

I can vouch for this website

My friend made 450$ from this website.

He also weighs 250 pounds now

madogmgd, I’m not sure if that comment was supposed to be for or against the website :P

Basically it would be a waste of your time and energy, so just find someone to tutor. The only good part about the website is the convenience, but you’d make a heck of a lot more tutoring. Plus you could put tutoring on your college apps.

I can vouch for this site. It’s pretty awesome and I’ve made about $60. Yeah, it takes a while, but for other math geeks (like me!), it’s a fun community. There are some new features that look to be pretty good to. It will be interested to see where this site goes in the school year. I like the idea of sharing my homework assignment/work with my classmates.

The just added science textbooks and english novels, fyi.

I actually haven’t contributed solutions myself, but you can see my high school in new jersey here: [url=http://www.■■■■■■■■■■/school/annandale-nj-north-hunterdon-reg-high/]NORTH HUNTERDON REG HIGH (ANNANDALE, NJ) :: Homework Help and Answers :: Slader/url. My friend Vivian’s contributed a bunch of solutions and said she got her money through pay pal.

My favorite thing about the site is the feel to it. I mean, idk how the heck they came up with their crazy cartoons but they sure make me laugh.

Also, you can stock up on points by answering those surveys – that way when school starts you’ll always be able to look at homework answers. Yay!
