48 bagels - 4 dozen bagels, give or take 3-4, - $5.99!
End of the day bagels are fine! Especially toasted!!
I have never experienced this. The products we got we just like left over from the current day. Months later expired? Not even sure you can sell that.
Hi, can you list names? I live in Chicago but work in Naperville so just curious… Pizza Cafe… Yum!
They are very fresh. I cut, bagged and froze half, and the rest are on the windowsill waiting for consumption.
Just noticed this today: once you make an account, they track the carbon footprint supposedly saved by your purchase. Of course, if you drive to pick-up, the number would be lower. Pretty cool, though!
Our local grocery chain regularly marks down pastries and to-go items near closing time. They also put discounted close to expiration and/or unpopular items, and/or items with a small dent in a grocery cart with discount sign so folks can choose what appeals. I’ve gotten so perfectly good products that way—whole wheat spaghetti noodles, cookies for my meeting the next day, bagels and more. Prices are often 25-50% of the regular retail price.
My surprise bag tonight was from a restaurant that sells “fresh, wholesome, locally sourced” food. For $5 I got a large container of brined roast chicken dinner, with grilled broccoli & (4!) sweet potatoes, and farro (a grain I hadn’t previously heard of). It was very good! I hadn’t had dinner yet so I was going to eat it myself but I couldn’t keep my husband and 10-year-old out of it. But we all had plenty. Will definitely try this place again.
I am in Evanston - DeSalvo’s pizza - yum!
In Chicago, Dom’s market is supposed to be really good for TGTG bags. Also, Bitterwsweet bakery.
Thx… Will try them out… Fun!
Yay! Thanks for this. I just signed up and am collecting my Surprise Bag from Eataly this afternoon!
Looking forward to hearing what’s in that one!
@CottonTales did you get yours this week yet?
After reading through this thread you have all gotten me to download the app. Places not too far from me that had the bags today (but are all gone) are Philz coffee, La Colombe Coffee, Peet’s Coffee, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and a place called The Pie Hole. I will see if I can snag one of the deals tomorrow and report back.
we are in Philadelphia and have a lot of options on the app. We have tried it and always been happy. We have friends who also use the app.
I’m heading over to pick it up; I’m so excited to see what’s in it! I think that for $5, I cant go wrong.
I’m holding off for now, I’m on a strict diet to lose the last 10 lbs before my beach vacation at the end of February. I keep checking the app and I have a list of places I want to try later.
Please report back with your mystery surprise @momo2x2018.
Two loaves of bread - A fig loaf and a Whole Wheat loaf
A pack of Iced Cookies
A pack of chocolate pieces
Wow, just one of those items would have justified the price you paid—score!
