Too information, no knowledge. Very overwhelm. Wow. Please help!

Hi. I'm a high school junior who is a Chinese-American girl, and I'm super confused about colleges, SAT II tests, and AP stuff. So... basically everything.

GPA (projection): 3.75 UW, 4.0-4.1(ish) W
ACT: 33 1st try, might improve a point or two in April/June
PSAT: 235
SAT: waiting for Jan. scores, will update
SAT II (so far): U.S. History 780, Biology 770
AP classes (including junior year): U.S. History, Biology, Calc 1, European History, English Lit, English Lang
AP tests, not classes (junior year): Human Geo, Environmental Science
AP classes (senior year): Gov, Macro, Calc 2, Chem, French, Physics
UMTC CIS (senior year): Lit, Writing

ECs:
-school symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, pit orchestra for musicals, various other orchestra groups over the years
-leadership position in above orchestra senior year, as well as possible concertmaster position
-all-conference orchestra
-co-president of orchestra tutoring program
-"superior" and "best of site" awards in regional music contest
-National Honor Society
-many hours volunteering with school recycling, orchestra, Science Olympiad, and local church
-Science Olympiad since freshman year, regional/invitational medals
-possible co-captain and/or varsity team member of top Science Olympiad team in nation in senior year
-possible TASP or UW Madison SSI summer after junior year
-speech team freshman year
-work experience summer after sophomore year
-USA Biology Olympiad semifinalist 2013 (and probably 2014)
-National Merit semifinalist (and possible finalist) 2015
-various essay competitions (results TBA)
-probable National AP Scholar after this year's AP tests

I'm thinking about which colleges to apply to, and these are my definites (with acceptance rates):
-UChicago (13%)
-Northwestern U (18%)
-Wellesley (30%)
-UMTC (44%)
Possible reaches:
-Columbia (7%)
-Cornell (16%)
Other considerations (will probably choose 2-3 of these):
-Swarthmore (14%)
-Haverford (23%)
-Johns Hopkins (18%)
-WUSTL (18%)
-Tufts (21%)
-Macalester (34%)
-UW Madison (55%)

I know my ECs are a little fluffy, and some of the information is based on predictions. Sorry about that... :/
If I got a C+ in a freshman honors physical science class, how much will that affect admissions?

Would UMTC and Madison be considered safety schools for me (and if not, what would be)? Would Wellesley and Macalester be match schools? Is Columbia too much of a reach for me? Since I'm a MN resident, getting into UMTC should be fine (...right?); is it dangerous to only have one safety school? What are your opinions about my admission chances for the above list? How many schools should I apply to, ideally?

I want to be an anesthesiologist, so I will be pre-med. Are there any majors to avoid and any to definitely consider? (I am interested in the social sciences and French.) My dad wants me to be a chem major, but is the difficulty and stress worth it since I will be taking chem classes anyways?

I will be taking AP French online in addition to a full courseload of AP classes due to a desire (for personal, intellectual, and academic reasons) to take AP Chem. Is this a wise choice? I honestly can't think of any other option. Also, I'm planning to take the SAT II chem and math 2 tests; should I take English literature or French as my third? (I am more comfortable with literature, but will French look better?) Or should I not take either of those and take another test instead?

Sorry for so many questions. Thank you so much for any and all answers! :)

Well im not going to bother chancing you right now because you have too much projected information but here’s what i can tell you. Your ACT score is great, Ivy level. If you can improve it to a 34 or 35 even better, but you should be proud of that score. Your EC are also great but too varied. Try to focus your clubs in a discipline that you are passionate about, it comes off well in admissions. The only thing you ahve to worry about is your GPA, try to bump it to at least a 3.8.

My Thread (chance back please): <a href=“Chances for Vanderbilt, UNC, NYU, UF, and Duke? - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1610985-chances-for-vanderbilt-unc-nyu-uf-and-duke-p1.html</a>

Wowowow. I only wish I had these stats! Very impressive so far!
Rigor is great and colleges love that; same with ECs.

Like the previous poster, your GPA needs to be a bit higher for all the schools you’re considering.
Unfortunately, as you predicted, the C may affect some decisions BUT colleges love to see improvement so seeing your grades bounce back after a C is very appealing.

I may put UChicago at a low reach. At least until you get a definitive SAT score. Although, your ACT score might just do the trick as well.

Can’t wait to see what you do!

Chance me (if you want) here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1613310-my-chances-at-uga-rd.html#latest</a></p>

AP scores?

First, no one here knows better than your HS GC about what is a safety for you. I think you get a good price break at Madison, right? Hopefully that is a safety and UM - TC seems like it should be. If you are confused about college stuff get a book like A is for Admissions and read it. Then talk to your GC. I think Wellesley is a smart choice. You get a quality school with a better admission rate, because some just won’t go to a women’s school. But there are some advantages to that school. You can call it a match but I’d never be that confident about that level of admit rate and that quality of applicant pool they get. Mac is a match. All else reach/crapshoot.

Lit and French are both challenging AP tests, but I’d stick with the Lit. Bilingual people take the language tests and make the curve very difficult.

You can be any major for premed. Doesn’t matter. Just take and do well in premed requirements. Read the med school forum.
