Too Late Already?

Hi, I'm not sure if this is really the right place to put this but...

I have a question about whether my current grades are already too bad (or not) to get into an Ivy League or something like UCLA/USC.
I realize people are starting to hate Ivy League questions and everything, but since there is a certain point at which all the Ivies are based at, I thought it'd be okay.

Anyway, so I'm not sure about my GPA at the moment, but first semester was 3.428.

My grades first AND second semester:

Advanced English A
Geometry C
Korean 1-2 B
Biology A
PE B
Intro to World Affairs A

I don't think Advanced English count for anything.

So yeah. I just wanted to know if there is still any chance for me.. What worries me terribly are the two Cs. Are those unacceptable?

Oh, and I'm taking this Pre-algebra 2 class in the summer. Not required, but math is my worst subject so I decided to go for it.
And.. next year I'll be taking English Honors and Ap Euro..

not too late..........

What year in school are you in?

Even with 2 Cs, still okay?? Ivy League??

I'm going into Sophomore year.

And my school is in like the top 350.. so it's not all too great. Public of course.

freshman year - 3.428...do the math

if you get almost all A's you can bring your GPA up quite high. If you're aiming for ivy league, you should speak to your counselor and make sure you do everything possible to be the best applicant. Join several meaningful clubs and set up your courseload well in advance - take the most difficult classes available and prepare for the PSAT. A 3.428 is definitely not the end, but for me, freshman year was easiest so things may just get harder.

Some schools don't use your freshman grade.

all uc's don't use freshman year, so for those, don't sweat it.

personally, i got a 3.16 and a 3.3 in freshman year, but by junior year i got a 4.16.

you can turn it around, for sure.

An upward curve is the most impressive pattern in grades. It shows maturity.

Ahh thank you guys!

Btw. I feel kind of stupid asking this but: As a hobby, I'm pretty proficient in html and website kind of stuff.. I don't think I'll pursue a career in it or anything but.. will it help for anything? EC maybe? Probably not? :s

aninstance:

Assuming you are a California resident and your grades continue into Sophomore/Junior year,
UCLA: Reach

Ughh really?

ucla - you want around a 4.24

after research i've learned - even the top uc's are heaily numbers-based.

A B in PE?

Cs will keep you outof ivies and other top colleges. Retake those classes.

who retakes classes?

Cs are overlooked if they were in freshman year.

youre a soph; excellent ECs, essays and reccs will make up for a C. seriously.

Cs are overlooked in freshman year????? Don't think so. In CA, everyone who wants a top school or even a UC retakes Cs.

If you just want UCs, Freshman year aren't even looked at and they won't look at a retaken grade anyway unless it is retaken because you failed with a F.

uc's will reject you for a single f.
