<p>I want to major in engineering, but my SAT score isn't high enough so I plan on taking it again in October. I keep hearing that all the classes will be full, so the plan is to turn in my application really early, then submit my SAT scores as soon as I get them. Will this help me or is it just too late?</p>
<p>It will help to show an increased SAT score. It shows colleges that you care. Still apply ED or EA to your top school but send in the score later. It will automatically resend your application into the “To Be Read” file in the admissions office.</p>
<p>If you don’t submit any Sat score then your app will be incomplete and will not be reviewed.</p>

<p>You don’t register for classes until like a year later when you’re already accepted. Get it right.</p>
<p>But you can take the required engineering freshman classes and transfer into whatever specific engineering major after your first year (if your GPA is high enough).</p>
<p>What do you mean your SAT scores are not high enough? Do you mind sharing your stats: class rank, gpa, SAT, etc?</p>
<p>It is always a good idea to have a backup plan in case your no. 1 doesn’t work out.</p>

<p>Just don’t worry, apply to A&M, wait for your acceptance, get a meningitis vaccination, register for your general/freshman engineering classes, do well in them your first year, then get admitted to Upper Level Mechanical Engineering.</p>

<p>In my opinion, it’s just to make those who didn’t apply soon enough (or didn’t score high enough on an SAT before October) make sure that they want to go to A&M and work hard.</p>
<p>They expect SOME of those accepted to specific Lower-Level engineering majors to NOT do well enough to enter Upper-Level. </p>
<p>So those in General Engineering will take their “spot” (which was never theirs).</p>
<p>What Hillo is saying, I think, is to take whatever engineering you can get for admittance, and then transfer into the one you want later. I would caution that might not be as easy as one would think. It’s very competitive and your grades need to be up there. You should talk to an advisor with TAMU. Good luck on your SATs.</p>
