I procrastinated hard on my letter of continued interest for UChicago because I have no motivation whatsoever to write it. Is it too late to write one now to my regional admissions officer? I am in the RD pool, which is one reason why my motivation is so low as their acceptance rate is below 1% for EA to RD (I think 0.5%). I basically have no chance anyway. I asked my counselor about it, but I can’t trust what she says because she clearly has no idea what she’s doing.
Is it your first choice? Would you attend if accepted? If so, let them know that - it’ll take about five minutes max - and send along your mid-year transcript.
I don’t think it’s too late at all - I was planning to send mine this week. And better late than never.
The bigger issue is your lack of motivation. The low acceptance rate is discouraging, but if you’re worried about getting in, you must have some reasons you want to go there, right? Maybe you need to take a break from college app stuff and focus on your mental health. Maybe you need to look at UChicago-related things - the student newspaper, the FB meme page, whatever.
Just try to get excited about the school, or remember why you used to be. Good luck
