Too late for National Merit College Choice?

<p>Only this weekend did I finally decide on a college choice (May 1st is tomorrow) and I will be faxing my National Merit form later this morning. </p>

<p>However, I have seen rumors elsewhere that, unless they received your college correction form by April 27th, you will not be able to receive that $2500 after all. I find this quite frustrating, as none of the papers sent with the form indicated any semblance of a final date, only something along the lines of "as soon as you know". There is no way that I can attend the school that was written on my original award, as I had been rejected there.</p>

<p>Can anyone confirm any kind of deadline for changing one's college for the National Merit $2,500 Award?</p>

<p>Make sure you clarify how this applies to your situation. I believe that deadline applies only to college-sponsored NMS.</p>

<p>I believe the April 25th deadline is only for College sponsored scholarship. It will not affect the $2500 scholarship offered directly by NMSC. Please read the instructions closely.</p>

My scholarship was one of the $2500 Finalist Scholar Awards.</p>
