Too late for Pitt scholarship letters?

I applied to Pitt back in October for ECE, got acceptance and honors college a few weeks later but still no scholarships.

Stats are 800 math 730 cr 790 writing. I did the essay but no recs. 3rd in class top 10% public with 6 APs and 4 more this year. I was hoping for something at least but have received no notification. Should I try to contact admissions? Are they still sending letters out? I heard it usually takes about a month for scholarship decisions.

On another thread it was reported that scholarship letters will continue to roll out until the beginning of March.

You can call admissions and specifically ask. They would be in the best position to know for sure.

I e-mailed admissions and was told most scholarship decisions would be made between Jan 15th and end of Feb. if me kid had not heard by end of Feb, he had not gotten a scholarship.

I called admissions on 1/2/14 and they said there was no information in my son’s file about scholarship. Then on 1/11/14, he got his scholarship letter. From what I have read on this board, the scholarship committee meets on Fridays and then letters go out the following week. There is no harm in calling since you are already admitted.

Thanks to all for the replies! I’m going to call them just to be sure. I have heard that chancellors scholarship application invites go out with the scholarship letters. Does getting a later scholarship letter effect eligibility for that app?

ugh, seeing ur stats and you are still waiting makes me even less hopeful mine will get any merit aid  Great stats BTW. Yes, i would call. maybe they just overlooked your file.

@ctl987 I saw lots of people with far worse stats getting some impressive stuff so don’t worry! Pitts a fairly affordable school to begin with anyways if it’s your favorite compared to a lot of comparable schools.

thanks. I’m actually the Mom. kid is leaning towards Temple at this point but he loves Pitt and a big scholarship could sway him back to Pitt. For what he wants to study, Temple and Philly seem to have more options for him so he started leaning towards Temple over the summer. and the guaranteed merit aid at Temple appealed to him too. however, since he’s instate, even a $10000 scholarship would really trim the bill at Pitt and we knew he did not have the stats for full tuition. so, we shall see. Good luck to u!

To any future readers I got my letter just a few days later on the 17th.

Got 10k/year plus chancellors invite. Wish it would have been full but I’m certainly not complaining! Stats at the top if you were wondering!

I was accepted into Swanson and UHC back in November with notification i was being reviewed for scholarship. Just today I got my letter for a 10k/year scholarship. Letters are still going out.

Just got a letter saying we didn’t get the tuition exchange “scholarship”. Not a real shocker, but since there was no mention of any other scholarships, assuming D didn’t get any. This may make us lean more towards UDel which gave her $9k, although she really prefers Pitt. Sorry for us but happy for everyone posting here about scholarships.

O.K. it is February 23rd and no letter from Pitt regarding merit money. Does anyone know if Pitt is still handing out merit money? My D was accepted into the Nursing School. She has a 3.7GPA and 2240 SAT score. She was also accepted into Case Western with a sizable scholarship and Villanova. If Pitt offers some money to make it more affordable it could sway her towards Pitt unless she falls inlove with Case when we visit in a few weeks.

I just got my Pitt scholarship offer today, and it was full tuition, so I don’t really see any indication that they’re not still giving out scholarships and that scholarship amounts are decreasing.
