I was wondering if it's too late to get a summer internship for biology...
it doesn't need to be paid.
Will I have a better chance for research position..? or shadowing a physician?
I just want to have a productive summer. Any recommendations?

Not too late, especially since you’re not looking for a paid position. Approach professors at nearby universities and ask if you can work at their labs.
