For a variety of reasons, we are just now looking at summer MT camps and are limited to 1-2 weeks if accepted. Any ideas or opinions on Broadway Artists’ Alliance or a US Performing Arts program? Daughter is a rising Senior… Advice welcome!
My D attended the USPA college audition boot camp as a rising senior and thought it was beneficial.
Thank you!
My daughter did Broadway Artists’ Alliance years ago and loved it. It’s never too late because all of these places are businesses first so a phone call will help squeeze your daughter in if they have any openings at all. Good luck!
I will always speak highly of Indiana University’s Midsummer Theatre Program. It’s a 2 week program, VERY affordable (comparatively speaking) and I’m sure you’d still be able to get your D in.
try artsbridge! wonderful program great connections
According to their web site, Savannah Summer Theatre Institute has one opening for Session 1 and a couple openings remaining for Session 2 for this summer, however their program is longer than 2 weeks.
I’m going to second Artsbridge! My daughter did many summer programs - this one was her favorite. It gave her an opportunity to work with a lot of faculty from different programs.
It may be longer than what you are looking for, but Texas Musical Theatre Workshop still has openings I believe:

Son is a junior, but after much back-and-forth, we decided to spend the money one-on-one acting coaching plus extra sessions with a vocal coach who specializes in MT (son’s regular voice teacher is classically based). He has worked with them both before, felt a connection with them, and feels confident they can help him prepare for auditions–and from all I read, it all boils down to that five-minute audition. He’ll miss the fun of a camp, though. Still not sure if we made the right decision.
If you are budget minded, I would hesitate to recommend Artsbridge. It is very expensive. There are many other programs that do college prep that are as good, or better, it depends what you are looking for. Contact the programs through email or phone call if you can. See if they will extend the deadline. Often they will, if they have not filled their program. And you can send a video. Here is the thread with a long list of programs. Search by area of the country.
Is anyone familiar with the summer NSLC program, theater emphasis, at Lincoln Center (Fordham) ?
Also, is USPA camp “serious” enough? There is no audition but the faculty looks good.
My D attended 3 USPA camps - 2 one week camps as a rising Jr and a one audition bootcamp as a rising Sr. She really enjoyed them and learned a lot (and loved her instructors who are on the faculty at UCLA) although my D got into the theater game a bit late (HS) so her perspective might have been different. I think the audition bootcamp was really helpful. She also attended the Texas Musical Theater Workshop (3 weeks) as a rising senior.
I was “clicking around” today, and stopped by the website for Christopher Newport University’s Torggler Summer Vocal Institute. Right on the front page was:
" Ten student spaces just added! Application deadline is June 5.

"
I couldn’t find more specific info on the website, but from past experience of looking into this program (I live very close to CNU), the program is open to high school and college students. The guests/faculty/featured artists this year are quite impressive, and if you/your child is a rising HS senior, this might be a gold-mine of a program to attend:

As a local to CNU-- This program is outstanding! I hope someone here at CC takes advantage of this. If so-- please post your experience later this summer. Happy to “pay it forward.”
^ Wow, that looks great!!
In the Roosevelt University MT Schools thread there is a post about a new summer intensive at CCPA. Sounds like they are still taking registrations.
