So I just sent in an update letter with some pretty major awards/events on it, but I'm worried it might be too late. Have they already made decisions? Will my letter make any difference?

Nope, it is not too late. I sent an update pretty recently, Yale Admissions responded saying it would be added to my file.

I sent one to Harvard (I know, I’m sorry) yesterday. I figured I’d might as well since I sent one to Yale as soon as news came about. It’s worth it to try. contact your regional advisor with the info.

@moonman676 Did you fax your updates to the file room, or email them? I faxed mine but haven’t received a reply. I emailed the admissions office to confirm and only received an automated reply email.

^What email address did you use? I can’t find one for updates :(

Can you send updates more than once, or is it better to just bother them one time only?

Also, what’s the best way to frame the update? Do you just list new awards won or do you have to put it in letter format?

Yale

Please do not send application updates directly to your admissions officer. Information will reach your file most quickly for review if it is faxed to our file room at 203.777.6120.

Whenever you write to us, please be sure to include, at the beginning of your message:

Your full name
Your high school’s full name and location (city or town, state or province, and country if outside the USA)
Your telephone number
Your Yale application ID number (9xxxxxxxx)

OMG, I missed this when I sent in my updates! I didn’t include the name of my high school, and my telephone number! Does this mean my updates have been ignored??

BTW, I did include my full name and Yale Student ID, and I didn’t get any notification of receipt of the update!

I faxed my stuff in and didn’t get a confirmation either, so I’d assumed it’s normal?

Derp, I sent all mine to my adcom. DAMMIT. Should I resend or…?

ummm…guys I wouldn’t worry so much about not getting the notification…I jus mentioned that I didn’t get one because I assumed that had something to do with the incomplete information in my email…
But I think gibby’s right…the ID and DOB ought to do it…

Never mind, not much I can do now anyway…the wind’s probably already chosen its course ;)
