Too late now. . but. . .

Apparantly CMU never received my application, and I contacted them about it mid-March (when I realized that I should have received a login in Late February) and they NEVER replied. I contacted again (all via e-mail), and no response. I feel kind of bad that I sent my SAT/ACT scores, transcripts, supplemental rec, got an interview, but my application was lost and thus never considered a candidate.

Looking back at my visit, CMU was pretty cool.

I know that I should have called perhaps, but, I don't know. What on earth happened? I feel soooooooo stupid.

Weird that you were able to do an interview and not trigger anything at CMU admissions that would have sent you a reminder. On the other hand, seems that the application is the trigger for most schools...once an application is filed then you get all sorts of reminders (missing scores, transcripts, financial data). Maybe the application office system just doesn't have a way to send reminders until an application is actually received and processed.

Exactly. Which totally messed everything up. I didn't really notice because all the other collegs just told me when they needed things, and then before I went on vacation I decided to check all my colleges and see.

I feel so bad! And no replies to either of my e-mails.

Maybe you should contact them. You never said anything about recieving a reply to your e-mails or calls. Maybe they do have your application, but they made the mistake by not sending you any information.

good luck!

katia11, how did you pay the application fee? If you paid the application fee and they received the fee, then it means that the application is delivered to CMU assuming you sent the fee in the same mail. In this case, you have a case to make. Did you send the fee in the same mail?

Hmmm. . . I think I did. It was awhile ago with other applications.

What would I say?

If you paid by a check, find the cashed check. It will show that CMU cashed it. If you paid by a credit card, your credit card statement should show that CMU received the fee. Assuming that you sent a check or credit card information with your applications (I assume it is a paper application), this means your application got to CMU. At this point CMU is supposed to let you know if anything is missing. Once you have a proof that CMU received the fee, call CMU and explain the situation. Best of luck!

ohh.. and also try to check your common application (website). it should say everything there.. about your app, payment and supplement.. unless you sent it in by mail.

aww that sucks.. for umich, i applied under early response and i didn't get around to checking my app status.. but apparently they never got a teacher rec from me.. and it wasn't until mid-dec (i sent in appl before oct 31) that I realized what happened.. i called them, yelled at them for mis-placing my letter.. and was accepted like a couple days later..
