<p>unless you’re engineering, don’t worry about it. your major is not going to affect you your first quarter here, and then you can change it.</p>
<p>if you are engineering…? maybe someone can clarify.</p>
<p>in both cases you can always switch later, but for engineering it’s harder to do so.</p>
<p>if its another major within the college of letters and science, then it doesnt matter. you can change it later if you get in, and your major wont have any bias on your admittance.</p>
<p>if its a completely different college (like you want to switch into or out of engineering) then im not sure. if this is the case, call and ask the admissions office to ask.</p>

<p>What major are you looking to transfer into? If its still in engineering, then they all take the same classes anyways for the first quarter, and petitioning isn’t terribly difficult. If it’s to a non-engineering major, well that’s just easier.</p>
<p>im thinking of switching majors in an effort to increase admission chances but i have changed my mind. admission decisions probably already have been made</p>
