Even though the priority date was in November, what are the chances of being accepted if I apply this late? Just now, I have an interest in Penn State University Park and regret not having thought about Penn State earlier.

My stats are:

ACT: 25
Average: 90-91 (not sure how my senior grades changed it)
Rank: 145 out of 911 students (top 15-20%)
OOS New York
Race: Asian
I did a bunch of extracurriculars: marching band, teacher monitor, library monitor, clubs, etc.

i don’t think it’s too late to apply, as i’m pretty sure they’d tell you since its rolling admissions, you can apply so long as there’s space. I just don’t know what your chances would be.

it’s never too late in rolling admission! if i listened to everyone who said it was, i would never have gotten accepted today. i applied january 7th and found out that i got into university park today why not apply?

Yeah, dude, go for it! Everyone who gets into Penn State aren’t going to go to UP, which means space constantly opens up. Never hurts to just apply.

I’m not discouraging anyone from applying but want to note that the info in DJpsu2015’s post is not really correct. Penn State knows that there are many students who are using PSU as a safety or simply are admitted to schools they would rather attend. For that reason PSU admits far more students than they can accommodate. Some years the numbers work out just right, sometimes students will be accepted off the waitlist and some years PSU has offered to buy out the local kids’ dorm contracts because even with overflow housing there is not enough space. The percentage of admitted students who choose to attend is called the yield and PSU’s admissions people work very hard to manage the numbers.

Well I applied in February and got my acceptance into Altoona pretty quickly but got denied from University Park. Now I would really want to know if Altoona is the same or similar as University Park in terms of rank, academic, and socially! I would definitely have chosen Penn State if I got into UP.
