Too late to apply

I just found this forum recently, and unfortunately wasn’t aware of University of the Arts. My son has applied as an MT major to a few schools including AMDA. He has 2 friends attending there and they love it. My wife and I like it as well but after researching UArts I want him to apply. His academics are not great but as most parents say (lol) , his talent is tremendous. My questions are, is it too late to apply to UArts for Fall 2010, and do they automatically dismiss you for less than stellar academics? Thanks for any insight!

From the website:

“The University of the Arts accepts students on rolling admission basis and, therefore, has no official application deadline. However, you are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible. Priority deadline for scholarship consideration requires that the application is submitted by March 15 and complete by April 1.”

Don’t know what the status is on spots still being available for auditions; I would act fast.

As to academics, there are mandated text based courses in the theater department and students must also take 8 liberal arts classes outside of the department. Conceivably, a student who just screws around could place themselves in academic jeopardy. See the student handbook on-line for more detailed info on grades and academic standing.
