I'm a new transfer student and a junior. And I'm still unsure what I want to do in life. I'm clueless in fact. I like technology a lot, and was thinking about doing a computer science major (my mom and uncle suggested it long ago but never listened). The thing is, I went to my schools website and looked at the requirements and I don't think it's possible. It takes 125 credits to compete the major, I can possibly shave off a few credits from my old major which was economics.

Should I stay as an economics major or should I take a chance and try to do it? I'm not sure if it's worth it, but I don't know what I want to do truly.

Try taking CS1 or something before you decide… whatever your school’s first real programming class is. It’ll give you a feel for the major and programming in general, some people really hate it or can’t grasp the concepts. In case you end up in that category, better to find out before you jump in head first. :P

In terms of it being do-able, sit down and write it out. Figure out what you’ve taken, which requirements are filled. Look at what’s left to do, how much of it fits? Would a minor work better? Is taking an extra year an option, if you really do want to go that route?
