I'm a California resident and my parents have paid for the past 4 yrs of my college themselves, so I've never filed FAFSA. However due to this wonderful economy, my dad was recently hit with some pay cuts and my parents were asking me about getting student loans since I'm going into my 5th year (...) I know the deadline for FAFSA for CA was June 30, but should I still try or will they not accept it at all? Is there any possible way to take a federal loan at this point in time?

CA’s deadline has passed, but that’s for state aid only. Federal aid can still be filed for. You could file FAFSA for this upcoming year through June '10. Any federal aid you qualify for will still be awarded, including federal loans.

Hurry Up!!! You can still apply. They may have deadline but they do still process information. You never know. You can totally still get it!! They processed my corrections like 2 or 3 weeks ago.
