I just had my interview today, and I'm definitely going to go for Yale(I can dream, can't I?) even if I get into all of my other school (still dreaming). The interviewer was a pretty laid back guy (alumnus) and his really only seemed surprised (in a good way), when we came to talking about finishing my high school's curriculum and taking classes at a local IVY league school (not Yale unfortunately).

I got all of my things in early (Oct. 1 I was notified that my application was being processed) for regular decision. I still have to send the official score report of my APs, though I did self report them (I know, I'm foolish for putting that off).

Is it too late for me to switch to SCEA? And would I want to wait, seeing as I won't be able to get my grades (in courses relevant to my planned dual major) in the courses I'm taking until December.

Can I switch to SCEA? Will they frown on that because I'm switching so close to the deadline?

(Also, perhaps very stupidly, I'm entertaining the idea Yale might be interested in me because as a regular decision candidate I got an interview so early)

A phone call to the admissions office is in order. As for your interview being early, that has nothing to do with it. Frankly, your area alumni committee just got to you because the SCEA apps rush hasn't yet come in and since your stuff is in, you got the call -- sorry to burst your balloon. But best of luck to you regardless!

Yeah, you should call the admissions office, it shouldn't be too hard to switch the folder your app is in or whatever you do.

Side note, where do you take your classes? I take some at Macalester in MN (not an Ivy, but a top 20 LA school), and I don't know many other people who've taken classes at places other than community colleges or state Us.

As you've been told on a number of threads, it is not too late to switch to SCEA. Yale does not give a fig that you're making the switch close to the SCEA deadline. That won't jeopardize your application at all. You don't need to send official AP score reports for admissions purposes. Self-reporting is all that's required. If you're admitted and decide to attend, you'll need to send official AP reports for purposes of placement in some classes.

Thanks for your post (albeit a little curt)
I probably hadn't seen other people's posts because they were either in high traffic threads, or in threads that I forgot about. Sorry about that.

I'm taking classes at Cornell right now (which is not so far from where I live, I'm lucky in that respect), which are pertinent to my planned major.

I used to watch television, but then SAT II's and SAT's came around, then AP tests, and now prelims, and I've kind of lost interest in "entertainment".

Also, from what I remember of the Office, they usually use Andy to insult Cornell and its many fine a capella groups.

(No one got the Cory Doctorow reference? No one?)

This time Dwight decided to apply to Cornell to impress Angela, and Andy got the job as his alumni interviewer, and a hilarious scene ensued. :)
