Too Late to Send a Letter?

Hey guys, I was Deferred SCEA from Yale and I am now considering writing a letter. (It has been a very busy and stressful time so I never got a chance prior to this point!)

Am I too late to the party on this one? I received a pretty big award for my volunteer work and I also rewrote my Common App Essay for my RD colleges. Should I include these in the (email)?

What do you guys think? Right timing or way to late for a letter?

I’d send a very brief note of continued interest with update on award.

Should I include the new essay? Aside from the astronomically low acceptance rate, I believe my original essay was a big factor in my Deferral.

No. Leave all that behind you. Just provide a sentence of continued interest and an update with any new accomplishments. Don’t mention a essay. You don’t want to re-emphasize something you don’t think is strong enough.

No new essay. Just an update on your accomplishment and reiterate you interest. A few succinct sentences. Email it to main admissions, no actual letter needed, they will get it to your file/readers. You can get it done within the next 24 hours.
