I recentely recorded a cd that I needed as a flute audition for a show that I’m trying out for. I find that it’s pretty decent and I am considering sending it to several colleges that I have applied to, especially my first choice: Brown.

It being mid-February, is it too late to send in such additional material? I am not considering studying the arts but might persue music as an extracirricular activity. Brown never mentioned anything about sending in such material but I don’t see how it can hurt me…unless they find it a nusciance and end up shoving me further down the list. Should I go for it?

go ahead and send it, most colleges wont start reviewin the files until 3/1...and worst come worst they wont listen to it..big deal..they wont listen to it even if you dont send it...

yeah I agree with adides. it cant hurt to send it. but in one of the brown catalogues it said that, historically, additional material has not been shown to affect admissions decisions. of course they can say that and not mean it, just because they dont want to deal with loads and loads of extra material.

definitely send it. worst case scenario - they won't listen to it, and so it won't impact your decision. best case scenario - they'll listen to it and love it and you'll be accepted right then and there!
