I have recently concluded my swim season, and our team won the state competition, with me being an important part of the victory. I was also awarded the academic all-state award for swimming. Lately, I have also helped to found the first ever water polo team in our small community, and have been spending nearly 20 hours a week with this team. My question is, should I send this info to admissions, or will they just toss the envelope?

Have you ever contacted the coach? Has your coach contacted the coach? I would ask my coach to call the coach and send it to him/her. There are a number of slots for athletes. If the coach is interested, he will take the info over to admissions. And I do know of kids who sent addendums to admissions because of something that happened after. As to whether it was or wasn't read, no one will ever know, unless the student called and spoke to someone in admissions first, and cleared it with them. The coach situation may work better for you.

Thanks, I was also cast as a lead in the school play, and I was named a National Merit Finalist. Also, choir state is next week, so if I do well, should I include all this stuff as well? I feel that I've been working hard, and that it's not being looked at, but I don't want to be annoying.

The National Merit Finalist I would still send to them. The lead, no. Choir is too late, and they have tryouts at the beginning of the year, anyway. Realize that they are probably finalizing a lot of apps right now. Early Writes will be out in a couple days. The rest they will still be dealing with for another couple weeks, then it's done.
