Too late to send supplementary materials?

I didn't pay much attention to supplementary materials because I stupidly thought they were limited to artwork and music-related stuff and whatever else, but I read in a thread that someone sent in a poetry collection which prompted to re-read the application instructions and then I saw the phrase "writing samples".

If the postmark deadline is December 31 (and it is Dec 31) is it too late for me to send them writing samples?

I sent my stuff in by Jan. 1st...but I'm sure they won't care if your SUPPLEMENTARY materials are a bit late...go ahead and send them in.

Thanks. What if I didn't even indicate on my Yale supplementary form that I'd be sending in stuff?

Just write a cover letter and explain that you would like to include the sample for consideration in your application. It most likely will not be a problem.

I'm pretty sure it's not too late, because I know ea deferred people can still turn in stuff after the regular deadline to improve our applications

I actually heard somewhere that you had to mail in supplementary materials in 2 weeks ahead of the deadline so that it can be properly reviewed. I know that's at least true for music and art supplements, might not be true for writing... I'm sure you can find out if its true on the Yale website somewhere.
