Too late to send updates for the Robertson Scholars?

I submitted my supplemental materials form, but recently improved my SAT from a 2230 to a 2310 and won the state championships in debate, as well as was named a NMF. I sent my new SAT scores in to both Duke and UNC in December, but will these be received by the Robertson's Foundation? I was just planning on sending the resume update about state to Duke with my midyear report, but should I also send something directly to the foundation, or do they discourage this?

Sorry - I'm just not sure what I should do or if it's too late to send this info.

You can always try and send it tomorrow ASAP over-night. In the end, I'm guessing they've probably chosen most of their candidates. Hopefully you're one of them and you can bring up your amazing recent accomplishments to them during your phone interview. Good Luck!!

Do you know when these finalists are notified? And did you have to fill out a seperate form for it, or are all applicants considered for the scholarship?

Robertson was a separate scholarship application. I don't know about the ntoification date.

The 150 semifinalists will be notified around February 23, so it might not be too late. It can't hurt to send it in.

Thanks everyone. I emailed it in and they said they'd be happy to add it to my file.

That's weird, I was told the opposite:

Dear Zach,

Thank you for your email and for your interest in the Robertson Scholars Program of Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

At this point, we are no longer accepting additional information for candidate's Supplemental Materials files. I think it would be best to send the information if you choose to the admissions offices of Duke or UNC, as applicable.

Please let me know if I can be of any help.

Thanks again for your interest.

Odd. This was mine:

Dear Jesi,

Thank you for your email and for your interest in the Robertson
Scholars Program. Congratulations on this achievement. I will add
this to your file.

Thanks for letting us know.

Best,

Who was your email from?

--Same person, must not've copied it with the email.

When did you email them, I sent something yesterday afternoon.

Also, do we have any idea how many have applied? I'd just like to know what the chances of being one of the 150 might be.

I sent something last night.

when the website says the notification date is feb. 23rd, i wonder if that means they email/call semi-finalists on that day, or if they send letters out (in which case it might take several days for them to reach everyone). Anyone know?

nevermind...just found the answer to my question.
For anyone who's interested, last year they sent out emails on the evening of the notification day, and fedex packages of info arrived shortly after.

did you guys just apply to duke, or UNC as well? I applied to both.

I only applied to Duke, as UNC wasn't on the Common App. Might not have been the best choice, but I couldn't handle any more applications.

Both Duke and UNC.

When they say 150 finalists they mean 75 for Duke and 75 for UNC. I dont know what happens to those who apply to both if one might receive it for one school and not the other, or if you get to choose. Hopefully applying to one school is not a disadvantage.

Last year 22 students received the Robertson Scholarship for Duke and 22 received it for University of North Carolina. Only two students received it for both schools and had the option of choosing which school they wanted to attend

Any other Robertson applicants getting a bit nervous for the Friday email? I've been checkin the Roberson site and my email far more than usual, even though I know we won't get them till Friday.

I just wanna know :)

Does anyone know how many were nominated for the Robertson Scholar program? I know that they also select some who did not fill out the supplemental form, but I am wondering how many might have been nominated by their schools and are in the pool of those who filled out the supplemental forms?

You're not nominated by your school. You can choose to fill out the optional supplemental form but it's done on your own, not through the school.
