I need to get out of Boston University. So cold. God help me.

I was really loving the idea of transferring to a California/Southern School, but the UC site says that all campuses are closed for new applications. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that this isn't for good, but is it? Did transfer apps close up a while ago? I remember the UC schools all had super early deadlines...

Deadline was in November. Not sure what it is for Spring admission to Merced though.

I don’t think you can transfer to a public university in California if you’ve enrolled and completed courses at another university. In order to be eligible to apply as a transfer to a UC school, I’m pretty sure you need 60 semester units. The application was due November 30 for UC schools anyways. If you really don’t like the cold, I know U of A, ASU and UNLV have really late deadline applications, but if you’ve already completed a semester (which I’m sure you have) then you must wait until you have 60 semester units and apply as a transfer. If you haven’t completed a semester, you can do what my friend did. He dropped his classes before the semester ended so he could apply somewhere else as a freshman. Good luck! If public school doesn’t work out, then I know private schools have completely different transfer requirements and might do spring admissions.

Why would it be the case that you cant transfer after enrolling in another Uni? Isn’t that the whole point of transfer?

Maybe he means you can’t transfer after one year? Because UCLA only takes 2nd year transfers.

I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to transfer from another university, but it will be more difficult. I’ve heard that community colleges are the easiest, followed by other UCs, and then all other 4-years.
