Too Late?

It's December 11th. I am already 1 year removed from high school, born in 1990, class of '08. I think this school could be a fit for me, so I just want to apply.
My high school stuff, I think may check out. I ran a couple of clubs and had a 3.7 weighted gpa and a 1840 SAT.

But I haven't even started my application. It just came into my head that I can apply to West Point, but now I realize their application system is totally different.
So I haven't asked my Representative anything yet, because if I apply for this year, I get disqualified for every other year and I don't want to just waste both of our time.
Also I am out of shape, I am probably 15 lbs overweight and can only do 5 push ups, but I think I could meet at least 60% of the requirements physically by February.

So should I just forget about West Point (I am already almost ready to transfer to a university saving 2 years of college that I wouldn't get in West Point)?

First of all, you won’t be disqualified for every other year by applying this time.
Also, if you want to be an Army officer, there are other routes to commissioning.
But if you are truly set on West Point, if you don’t call your rep’s officer, you’ll never know, will you? Why not make a call? They are very helpful at ours, cannot imagine yours will be any different.

It CAN be done, but to get an appointment, you’ll need a nomination, check that first. Talk with your Representative’s office and both of your Senator’s offices to see if you can still be interviewed and/or apply. Most have done this already and the deadline has passed, but not all. Then, you’ll need to get your butt in gear to finish everything in time.

I’ve seen it done firsthand. Not easy, but doable. Get hopping.
