Too long ago?

Is there a time limit as to how many years ago you could've taken a pre-req? I have heard it is 4 or 5 years.

5 years at UC's but you should definately call the specific school you are considering

Umm...depends on the school, the department, and the class. Give a little more detail.

I started taking courses in CC summer after soph year in hs. They were just a bunch of random classes (Econ 1, Anthro I, Intro to Chem, Psych I, Eng 101) to see what I liked before I actually got to college. The Psych and Eng class I took summer after I graduated hs in 2004 so I know those will still count, but I am asking about the courses taken during my soph and junior year (2002 & 2003) because I am applying to transfer next fall and was wondering if I could still use those classes to fulfill Igetc.

P.S. Do you know if UC's allow you to retake a course for a letter grade if the class was previously taken p/np?

I had a poli sci class on my transcript from my sophomore year of high school, and it transferred no problem for the IGETC.

As for the P/NP class, I don't know. Maybe someone else will, or you'll have to talk to an advisor. BTW, the problem may not be with the UC, but with your CC.

Do you have a source for this, BTW? I never remember being told there was a "statute of limitations" on any prereqs, so to speak...
