*Going to be a junior *

I am currently signed up for

1- AP Psych
2- Chinese 4 (not honors)
3- AP AB Calculus
4- Gym/PE
5- AP Chemistry
6- AP US History
7- AP Physics
8- Gym/PE
9- AP English (Language + Composition)

*I am taking two gym classes because they are lab periods for my sciences
*No lunch, couldn't fit it in my schedule
*GPA after Soph year = 3.967 (unweighted), 4.633 (weighted)

Do you think this schedule will be too hard for junior year? Is 6 AP's too much to handle? I am also taking the ACT for the first time in September. Thanks!!

AP Lang, Psych, and Calc are all fairly easy if you are a sharp student. AP Physics 1 is new and is not the old plug and chug physics. It is meant as an introductory course and it is algebra based. AP Chem is hard! It is new and the test last year was so long that the college board decided to lower the threshhold for a 5 by 4 points because so few students finished it. Get Barons ( the new one aligned with the new course) for that one. APUSH is also fairly intensive. As long as you don’t have too many outside activities and you have dececent teachers in the physics and chemistry, you should be fine.

This looks fairly challenging, but whether or not it is reasonable will depend on the homework expectations of you particular school/teachers for each of these classes. For my daughters’ class, APUSH was 2 + hours per night of homework (detailed outlines and vocab lists). A friend from church who goes to a different school in the same district had minimal homework. Psych and English should be fine for a strong student (suggested by your GPA). The sciences are the other big challenge - why Chem and Physics both this year? What science is planned for next year? Do you actually have 9 periods a day or are you on a block schedule? I also don’t really understand why you wrote gym if its actually science lab/double periods of the 2 science classes.

My teacher for English is rumored to be easy however the one for APUSH not to nice. Sorry about the confusion, I forgot to write they alternate gym and lab periods every two days. Next year I plan on taking AP Physics C. I did fairly well in Chem honors last year so I thought I should take Chem 2 junior, before I forget everything. My school uses a 9 period day, everyday is the same with the exception of the science lab/gym changes. Thanks for your feedback.

Do you have time for any ECs? (sports, clubs, music, awards, volunteering…)

if you get 3 or more hours of hw a night I would suggest dropping some classes (so you have time for other things, especially extracurriculars. also you need to get a proper amt of rest)

yes i run for the cross country team in the fall and play ultimate frisbee in the spring and also volunteer with multiple organizations. i am also apart of many clubs but they dont meet often.
