Too Many AP Classes?

Junior year I took AP Physics I, AP Biology, and AP Language and Composition. I managed to pass all my classes with an A. Since I really enjoy mathematics and science, I’m taking 4 AP classes my senior year. I would like to know if it’s manageable to take 4 AP classes in one year. I’m going to take AP Physics II, AP Computer Science, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus. Can anyone tell me how difficult it was for you if you took any of these classes?

Junior year I also took three AP tests: AP Biology, AP European History, and AP United States Government and Politics. I passed all of those as well. Senior year I took classes for AP Language and Composition, AP Calculus AB, AP Environmental Science, and AP Psychology along with self-studying for both AP Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. I will find out soon enough if I passed them, but I feel very confident that I did. The course load was not too much of a burden. The experience gained junior year paid off a lot, and the fact that I enjoyed the content of the courses aided me as well. I do not know much about the AP Physics II, AP Chemistry, or AP Computer Science courses or tests, but if you enjoy the material as you say I believe you can handle it for sure without too much weight on your shoulders, especially since you succeeded in three a year ago. Good luck.

Thank you! I really enjoy the content of the courses, so it won’t be much of a burden for me. Hopefully I succeed in these classes.

I took APUSH, AP Lang, and AP Physics 1 this past year. Got a 97 in APUSH, 89 in Lang, and 92 in physics. (waiting on AP scores) Next year Im taking AP US Gov, AP Psychology, AP Biology, and AP Calc AB. 4 is my max as I don’t think I can handle AP Lit as well. If your really strong in science you can do both AP Physics 2 and AP Chem.

AP Chem PLUS AP Physics would be very difficult. I’d advocate 4 APs, but switching one of the APs for another subject. 3 AP Science classes + AP Calc would be very difficult.
Are you applying to a college such as Colorado School of Mines, Cal Poly SLO, IIT Chicago, Rose Hulman, or NJIT?
