Too many credits for transfer?

My original plan was to apply to transfer to UT this spring (3.98 GPA, just over 60 credits), but there are a ton of pros to me staying at my CC for one more semester, including the fact that I will be able to apply for fall admission to the business school. However, if I wait until next fall I will have 81 credits on my transcripts (if I wait I am definitely doing the Spanish and Calculus AP exams for college credit which will equal 16 credits).

My question is will having 81 credits hurt my chances of admission at all, especially to the business school? I read on the site that if you have 90 or more credits you are pretty much not going to get admitted and 81 is pushing that envelope. So what do y'all think?

My understanding is that they (the business school) consider everyone 89 credits and below the same. Now, this was for internal transfers and I believe it applies for external too, I would contact someone from McCombs though. Also, remember that you will need 60 hours at UT to graduate.

Thanks for the quick reply Dan.

I will be talking to a transfer admissions counselor tomorrow and will let y’all know they say.
