Too many recommenders--which ones to cut?

Hello!
I’m applying ED to Brown and I currently have 6 people signed on as recommenders…I know this is way too many (even though they allow 4 teachers, one Other, and Counselor). Which ones do I cut?

Counselor (required)
Other recommender–founder of an NGO (I lovee this letter and don’t want to cut it)

English 12AP teacher (I’ve had her for 2 years; she likes me and is a great writer)

English 10H teacher (He is the most lifechanging person I’ve ever met and we are lowkey BFFs. I know he will write something great.)

APUSH + AP Psych teacher (I WANT to cut her because we have a weird relationship, but I’ve heard it looks bad if you don’t include junior year teachers. She taught me for 2 junior year classes. She will probably write something pretty straightforward and not terribly special.)

Spanish 2 teacher–sophomore year (He likes me a lot, we have a lot of discussions outside of class, and I’m applying as a Ling major so I figured a language teacher would be a plus).

So…I want to cut my junior year teacher, but I’ve been advised against it. Will it look bad to have 2 soph teachers? Whom to cut???

Sorry for the long post! Thanks for responding!!

Where does it say 4 teachers? I see it says 2 teachers…and if you are doing STEM, one of them should be STEM.

So I would keep English 12AP. I would not do another english teacher.
Then pick between APUSH and Spanish 2.

If you have a continuing relationship with the sophomore year teachers (advising clubs that you’re in, taking lunch in their rooms, tutoring) then it’s fine to keep them on the list. The English 12 and Spanish teacher sounds like your best bet.

I don’t know why these people are advocating your English 12 teacher… sounds like you’ll receive the best recommendation from your E10 teacher by far.

You want more current teachers…teachers of more rigorous courses

They really don’t want teachers from two years ago. They want the academic perspective from someone who has taught you more recenly. And OP has had the Engl 12 teacher for two years. Nor usually foreign language, unless that very specifically relates to the possible major.

This isn’t about who likes you or how much you like them. It’s about a current look at your academic and intellectual abilities and other traits, one educator writing about you to other educators. And frankly, even if you’re a humanities wannabe, you should present a stem LoR. The tippy top colleges will have lots of applicants showing this full view.

Plus, less than 2 weeks aggo, you indicted you already applied to Occidental. ?
