As a junior that will be beginning the application process shortly, I was wondering if there was such thing as having too many RECs for your application. Is there a certain number that you want to stay under?

colleges specify how many recs they want. most want two. if i were you i would ask for recs from teachers who knew you well and whose classes you did nicely in. like for example, i wouldnt get a rec from like an english teacher or someone who didnt know your name

The thicker the application, the thicker the applicant. They want two, give em two. Why would you want to send more?

No, no, no. Nobody wants to read through all of those horribely boring recs, then move on to those tearfested essays! Give them only what they want when it comes to recs!!

"like for example, i wouldnt get a rec from like an english teacher or someone who didnt know your name"

wait..why not an english teacher?

If you send more than they ask for, it will just annoy them.

thanks everyone....ronlivs, that's just an inside joke I have with her. She goes to the same school as me and we are in English together....and its May and our teacher still doesn't even know our names!
