Next year I want to take AP Bio, Art History, and World History. Along with Honors English. Is it too much? Should I facilitate my classes to have time for ECs, or should I leave it like that? My concern is that I won't have enough time for ECs. What do you guys think?

As long as you don’t have any hugely time-consuming activities like sports teams or anything, that’s absolutely fine.

I know a guy who is taking 7. It takes a special type of person to do that, but he got through it just fine, even on top of tech crew for our drama department.

Good luck :)

it all really dpends on your other schedules and time management skills, I have friends who are taking five ap’s this year(junior), and still have time for boyscouts, sports, etc. while others think that 1 ap takes up a lot of time.

I have no idea what grade you will be in, but that seems reasonable. I personally have a schedule that is a little bit more rigorous then that (one less AP, but two brutal honors classes), and have maintained my grades and ECs. That schedule should not prevent you from participating in ECs.

ok, thanks guys. Well, I take 2 hours of Debate 3 times a week and 2 hours of football 3 times a week. So… will it still affect me, I mean I want to get an A in all of the classes so will it impede from that?

That is something that is best asked to current seniors at your school who have taken these classes, since things like the teacher play a big role in the work load. Again speaking from personal experience, I get home at 9 pm one night a week, 7-8 several other days a week and doing ECs on the weekend and all though I am sometimes tired I get the work done. Also you might not get straight As no matter what, a hard teacher can turn a straight A student into one that is happy with a low B in that class.

Yes I understand, but you know I have to aim high jaja, but how much of ECs do you do? and what do you do?

Um…it varies a lot by day, but here is basically the full list. Duel enrollment, Hebrew for credit outside of school (in addition to the duel enrollment), NAHS, math club, NACLO, USY (it is a youth group), various yearbook positions (it is a class, but I always still have things to do outside of school), coaching golf, volunteering at a place called Friendship Circle, occasional volunteering at the local glass center, helping with school events, a library teen advocacy board, Diller Teen Fellow (I have graduated, but I still attend functions/work on projects) and some other local things that are harder to describe.
