Well my class rank, 18/548 and GPA- 4.55 out of 4 weighted isn’t too bad, but looking at my transcript I have 27 A’s and 14 B’s. Will this hurt my chances? Thanks.

asian power. yeah..
no all As = fail huh?

no but i just read a post about a girl that was freaking out about a B, and that it would kill her chances... so i was like hmm i have 14.

Let me see how many Bs I have (I was accepted at Harvard after being deferred): 8.

Not only that, but your grammar is atrocious.

the phrase "too much B's for Ivies" is um.. well... to much for the Ivies to accept you. just kidding.

p.s. it's supposed to be "too many B's for Ivies" because your number of "B's" is quantifiable.

It doesn't matter...your class rank is good. The colleges will just think that is harder to get A's at your school than others because not all schools use the same grading system or are equally difficult.

how did you take 41 courses in high school??

maybe the OP has gotten 41 semester grades...

Terribly sorry about the grammar, I'm used to being surrounded by idiots in other forums, and here I realize that I'm surrounded with Ivy scholars. Yeah, for each course we get two semester grades, so that would account for the myriad of grades.

There, did I redeem myself?

haha, you're funny

I've had 7 Bs & 1 C, and i got into several great schools. No need to worry about it now, just keep working.

Gasior - did you read my post? i think i was the girl that freaked out about a B.

i only freaked out because my transcript right now says AABAAAA. it just looks awkward to me. also, i
m a sophomore, so that
s why i don
t have a lot of B
s yet. i have two more years to deal with B`s.

coincidentally, i am asian.

Yeah, it was your post, I couldn't remember. I didn't mean to get you mad or anything I just started thinking about my transcript, hehe. Yeah, as the classes get harder and harder there will be more B's that pop up occasionally.

WOW... FOURTEENBs????? How did you get so many Bs????? I mean... i had 1 B and it was freshmen year for us history and i was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo mad at the teacher he gave me a B cuz i was tardy 15 times. then i had all As... btw im asian too haha... but anyways, u must've had something else other than B and A... like A- or B+????

i am getting an A- in bc calc right now, but it IS senior year and its not like colleges will cancel your admission over an A-, right? i think i also might get an A- in ap french, but at this point i give up... so basicly, 2 - 3 A-s for 8th semester will not kill me, right?

First of all the grammar thing is not that serious - people's online grammar can be pretty special, I know mine is. Anyway, I have heard that too many Bs can be a problem, but it is not a death sentence, unlike Cs. It really depends on what courses you received the Bs in. If you were taking AP Calculus in your sophomore year and pulled a B, I am not sure admin ppl will have a heart attack and feel offended that you even applied. lol. so maybe not so extreme, but you get the idea...
