too much money costs for sending sat scores.

it's like 9 bucks for one college and i am applying to 14collegss.. what a waste of money

Apply to fewer colleges. 6 - 8 is generally considered to be a sufficient number: 2 safeties, 3 matches, 2 reaches, for example. I am sure you have dozens of logical (in your mind) reasons why you need to apply to more, but as it is entirely YOUR choice to apply to 14, why complain about the expense you are purposely taking on?

Also, the application fees are generally far more than $9, so why does the SAT cost bother you more?

Take advantage of the 4 colleges that you can send the scores to when you register each time you take the SAT. I sent my scores when I registered for the SAT I to the colleges that don’t even look at SAT II, and then I sent the scores to 4 more colleges when I registered for SAT II that actually consider the subject tests (I took the SAT I before the SAT II, so all previous scores automatically get sent to these colleges).

too late now… u should have told me earlier lol… thanks though how many schools r u applying?

If you really can’t afford it, ask your guidance counselor about the College Board Fee Waiver program. It will give you 4 additional schools, 2 SAT sittings, 2 SAT II sittings, reduction on AP fees, and 4 free college applications. There is a set standard income level you must meet.

if you truly cant pay for it do the above, but when you think about it, $140 is pocket change compared to what you are about to pay for school

haha yeah. I guess it’ll help others who read it, though. And mephist0 is right- the money really is pocket change compared to the at least 40K. I’m applying to 7 colleges, mostly in-state.

well. i think it’s kinda waste of money to send sat scores to safety schools, cuz i know im not gonna go there.

it’s all a big money-making game. intended major: work for collegeboard.
