My question is for people who have taken calc, physics, organic chemistry, and biology all within same semester:
Was it overwhelming? How did you manage your time? study habits? What was your GPA like that semester?
Did you hold a job or participate in other EC's on top of this?
Thanks.

Unless you're a mental giant, you WILL drown with that course load.

If only I were.... anyone successful in taking three of the four? or a load with similar classes in difficulty?

The problem I see is that 3 of the 4 subjects are not interconnected. O-chem will help you in your bio, but physics will take away time from your calc and o-chem.

If there's one thing o-chem demands, it's time. A lot of the concepts will take time to truly grasp. I've never seen anyone (on here or in person) that could do calc, o-chem, and physics. Maybe 2 of the 4, but never the 3. Don't underestimate bio either. There's quite a bit of memorization to be done.

In short, there's just not enough hours in the day to make this a feasible course load.

I see, thanks for putting it into perspective

all i got to say is wow! Don't mentally drown yourself.

I took all 4 classes in my last sememster at CC, I have no choice, don't want to stay another year!

i'm taking the calc, physics and chem... probably spend around 4 hours a day outside of class sometimes a few more. This would have been impossible when i worked even part time

I wouldn't advise it. A kid I know is taking Chem, Physics, Bio, and Calc and he HATES it. Remember you have to do labs as well (most likely) and those really stress you out since they are so ridiculously long.

wow, if GPA isnt your first priority go for that workload....

You shouldn't have too much trouble taking three of the four. Personally, I'd leave out orgo as that might be the hardest.

Ive done bio, gen chem, and physics in one semester, in addition to another class. I didn't work and only did club activities, and ended up with a 4.0 that semester. As long as test don't overlap or come too close to eachother it isn't too bad.

That schedule is weak! Throw some comp sci and linear algebra in as well to toughen it up. You'll be good to go.

I seen someone take calc, ochem, and bio the same semester and they survived. It really depends on you. If you have trouble with chemistry, biology or math type courses then I would take 2 per semester. However, if you do pretty well then 3 is not bad. 4 of these courses in one semester is really pushing it. However, 3 is by all means do-able. Ochem is most likely the hardest course on the list.

Let's not forget this is community college, too.

My first semester of courses @ucsd pales in comparison to the difficulty of classes I had at community college...

Just saying.

would it be difficult to take 2 physics (electricity magnetics, waves thermodynamics) and linear algebra in the same semseter?

or would it rather be easier to take one physics (electricity magentism), linear algebra and general chemistry instead of the second physics?

please let me know

Looks tough..goodluck

which of mine would people advise?

I would space out your physics sequence a bit (especially since E&M can be very tough), so I recommend taking electricity and magnetism, linear algebra, and gen chem for one semester.
