Too Short?

I was wondering what you think the absolute shortest the main common app essay should be. Right now mine is 491 words and as i continue to edit and have others proofread it i fear that i might cut even more words (although i may also extend it). Its not that i dont have a lot to say on the topic, I just wrote it very succintly and i feel that i said everything that i wanted to say.

I am worried, however, that since it will be shorter than most of the essays it wont make as strong of an impression. Should i try to add some details somewhere (obviously i want just add unneccesary/meaningless words but maybe something that doesnt necessarily have to be there) or should I leave it however it comes out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I was actually wondering about this question as well. There is no real limit defined on the Common App essay. What seems too short? What seems too long?

Well the minimum is 250 and they say to keep it around 500 although there is no official maximum legnth. I think that most people probably submit essays that are around 550-600 words though and am worried that mine will seem really short in comparison.
