<p>I was wondering when the right time to ask for teacher recommendations was? I am asking because I just finished my spring semester and one of my teachers was extremely impressed with my performance in the classes I had with her (2) and I want to ask her for a write a recommendation letter....but I am not sure if it is too soon to start this process....</p>

<p>it might be a good idea to let your professor know, if you are absolutely POSITIVE you will be applying, that you would greatly appreciate it if she would write a letter for you in the future. this way, you don't have to make her write it NOW, since now is really not necessary, but she will keep it in mind, possibly write down ideas or a draft now, etc.</p>

<p>If you will not be taking a class with her again before applications are submitted, you should ask now. This way she will have a vivid impression of you, which will be reflected in the recommendations. You do not want her struggling to remember half a year in the future.</p>
